Finally Windows 10 Mobile is released. Should you update?

Finally
Microsoft managed to release windows 10 mobile after postponing it for months.
Originally slated to release on December 15 it got postponed to Early 2016 and
then March. But at least it’s here.
Windows 10 mobile update will take your
build up to 10.0.10586.164. To get windows you need to have a supported phone
(Some phones were removed from the list so look again before you try it) 10
mobile you need to download the upgrade advisor app from the windows store. The
app will ready your phone and install the phone if your phone is met with the
requirements.
Since
we got the updating process down you must be wondering whether to update right.
My direct answer is no, at least not for now. The reason, well it’s a bit buggy
(microsoft’s new music app groove sometimes doesn’t open but it will not freeze
the phone so don’t worry. But if you want to start the app you need to soft
reset (Hold the power and volume low button until it restarts. Usually takes around
10 -12 seconds and don’t worry it won’t delete your data it just restarts
within a few moments). Sometimes apps also crash but surprisingly the OS
manages to run smooth unaffected by the sudden crash so I think it should
improved by the app developers because I didn’t see any error like that in
Microsoft’s own preinstalled apps.) and performance is a little low compared to
windows 8 (Multi-tasking is faster but general performance improvements need to
done with more updates).
But the OS does have many new
features like interactive notifications (Not as powerful as Android Lollipop
but good and saves time in texting), expandable action bar ( yes it now has 16
quick action button but before start bad mouthing it the extra 12 is revealed
by a expand button in place of the setting button in windows 8.1 so its all
good), universal apps (Yes guys universal apps is really good because twitter
and many companies released many universal app named build for windows 10 and
most of them are pretty good and match their Ios and Android counterparts),
full screen start screen wallpapers and transparency of tiles can be adjusted
by a slider and the biggest new addition continuum (Well right now continuum isn’t
that good but think about if windows 10 mobile gets 32 bit support it will be
able to run even your favorite video game on the big screen with a keyboard and
mouse and maybe even a controller) and the OS has made many improvement to the
black UI of the windows 8.1 .
You guys must be thinking “what is this all the
features Microsoft managed to put?” and yeah it’s a not enough for our taste. But
Microsoft just made a whole new Kernel and managed to squish it to the old
kernel and guys that is miracle and I’m surprised Microsoft even managed put
this much features. So if you are waiting for new features wait for Red Stone
updates. The new Microsoft under Satya Nadella might even dethrone android. So
windows phone fans never fear and wait for till the day Microsoft finally gets
it right and by the way Microsoft advancing I reckon its close.
So what’s your take
about the latest OS? Share your thoughts with me and your fellow readers?
